A low-cost spay/neuter clinic
open to the public, the Virginia
Kincheloe Spay/Neuter Clinic is the very first of its kind in the
Spotsylvania, Fredericksburg, and Stafford, Virginia area. It is also the
first to be a cooperative effort among county government, private industry,
and a charitable animal welfare organization. This clinic was the lifelong
dream of the late Virginia
Kincheloe, a resident of Spotsylvania County. It is also a labor of love
for all the individuals involved in creating and maintaining it. Has it helped? From March 29, 2000
through today, Nearly 60,000 spay/neuter surgeries have been performed at our
clinic. The majority of these animals would not have received
spaying/neutering service without the availability of this clinic. As a
result, potentially millions of lives have been saved by reducing the
population of homeless animals. And we aren't done yet. Our appointment book
has consistently been filled since before we opened the front door. We can only move forward from
here. With greater sponsorship and community support, the Virginia Kincheloe
Spay/Neuter Clinic will continue to grow and expand. It is our goal, through
sponsorship and grant donations, to one day be able to spay/neuter all feral
cats at no charge. We are not there yet, but we are not far away. |
